Absences must be communicated to the school daily. If your student expected to be absent, please contact our Office Assistant Rozelia Bobbler.

Anticipating an extended absence?

  • Parents notify the school at least five (5) school days, prior to the planned departure from school, unless due to COVID related absences.

  • Request for STIS must be for a minimum of three (3) consecutive days.

  • STIS may not exceed fourteen (14) cumulative school days within a school year.

  •  Short-term Independent Study should not be issued for the first five (5) days or for the last five (5) days of a school year

  • The principal of the school has the right to deny a new Short-term Independent Study Agreement when a student has a history of not completing assigned work.

  •  Short-term Independent Study must be planned and coordinated with the school before the planned absences. Independent Study may not be made retroactive to an earlier date.

  •  The Due Date to return the assignments is the next school day after the Ending Date of the Agreement. Students shall be responsible for turning in all completed school work to Rozelia Bobbler (Attendance) on the Due Date. If assignments are completed or returned after the Due Date, academic credit may be given, however, no credit will be awarded for attendance.

  •  When parents of Special Education students request a Short-Term Independent Study Agreement, they understand and agree to a suspension of all Special Education services during the term of the agreement.
